Cheesy Sloppy Joe Texas Toast
CompletedIngredients
- Frozen garlic Texas toast (6–8 slices)
- Ground beef (1 lb)
- Sloppy Joe sauce (1 can, ~15 oz)
- Provolone cheese slices (6–8 slices)
Steps
- Arrange {{Frozen garlic Texas toast:6–8 slices}} on a baking sheet and bake at 425°F per package directions until golden, about 5–8 minutes.
- While the toast bakes, brown {{Ground beef:1 lb}} in a skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it up; drain excess fat.
- Stir in {{Sloppy Joe sauce:1 can}} and simmer 2–3 minutes to thicken.
- Remove toast from oven; using the back of a spoon, gently press the centers to make a shallow well in each slice.
- Spoon the sloppy joe mixture (from {{Ground beef:1 lb}} + {{Sloppy Joe sauce:1 can}}) into each toast well, dividing evenly.
- Top each with {{Provolone cheese slices:6–8 slices}} (one slice per toast).
- Return to the 425°F oven and bake 5–10 minutes, until cheese is melted and edges are toasty.
- Serve hot.
